Our Projects

At HBSD we know the value of having a connection to mother nature and what she provides.  We know the importance of the ecosystem and how vulnerable it can be. Hunters and the hunting community understand it more than anybody, they see it and they are there standing in the middle of it. They are the front line stewards of the land.  On this page you will see that we are raising awareness to the things that we think matter. Help us promote our hunting heritage and strengthen our hunting community. Go to our DONATE PAGE and watch for project updates.

First Time Hunter  Program

The aim here is to find new hunters and hunting families that are interested in making a connection to the outdoors through hunting activities. Every year HBSD would like to take a new hunter or new hunting family out on a weekend hunt. Interested individuals or families could make a request either through our facebook page - huntingbucksandsmokinducks or website - huntingbucksandsmokingducks.com  Your donation would assist in equipment, travel, accomodations for those families not able to afford the start up cost.

02

New Trapper Program

The aim of the program is to attract new trappers into the trapping and hunting community. Like hunters, trappers play an important role in wildlife management, particularly fur bearing species. Like hunting, through trapping activities - specific species numbers are managed thus minimizing potential disease and human wildlife conflict like wolf and coyote livestock predation. HBSD when able will pay for two Trapper Education Courses for two individuals wanting to learn and participate in trapping activities.

Daughters & Dads Can Fish

This project should be near and dear to every dads heart if he has a daughter. That is why HBSD is raising awareness and funds to promote fishing opportunities for all new anglers specifically the ladies. HBSD when able will provide opportunities for dads and daughters through the purchase of fishing equipment and/or fishing opportunities near their communities.

Wild Classrooms

This project aims to support and promote outdoor education in our school's classrooms. Our youth, children and grandchildren will be the keepers of our ecosystem and those things that live in it. The purpose of this project is not necessarily driven towards hunting and trapping activities on the landscape but rather an avenue to outdoors. HBSD will work to bring wild things and places to our classrooms through live streaming video technology.
